H1N1 Influenza Information

Are you doing all you can to protect your children, your family, and yourself against the H1N1 Flu virus?  We are providing important information regarding signs, symptoms and prevention against the H1N1 Flu flu virus.  Each day we hear about individuals who are becoming infected by this virus; therefore, it is vitally important that we are able to recognize the signs of this flu and how to prevent the virus from spreading to others.

PREVENTION:

  1. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.  Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  2. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow.
  3. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
  4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.  Germs spread that way.
  5. Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

SYMPTOMS:

  1. Fever (greater than 100 degrees F)
  2. Sore throat and cough
  3. Stuffy nose
  4. Chills
  5. Headache & body aches
  6. Fatigue
  7. Nausea & vomiting
  8. Severe illness (respiratory distress and pneumonia have been reported in people with this virus).
